Individual Fundraising

At Gloucestershire Young Carers we encourage the young in all of us. It's not just our carers that need time out from 'adult-size' responsibilities. We all like to have fun.

So we are challenging you to have fun and fundraise at the same time. We appreciate every penny you pledge to Gloucestershire Young Carers but we appreciate it even more if we know you've had fun raising it.

Perhaps you've a yen to yo yo or a desire to dip into a bath of beans. Do you spend your weekends welly-throwing or would you like to try a triathlon? We challenge you to fulfil that dream - and in so doing help us give some young carers some sweet dreams.

Just set yourself a fun - fundraising project and then contact us. We'll offer you all the support you need to achieve your aim. We can provide you with a branded sponsorship form, leaflet to give out to your sponsors and we'll even make sure you look the part for your challenge wearing the Gloucestershire Young Carers logo. We'll tell the world about your event with some well-placed publicity and then we'll sit back and let you get the glory when you complete your challenge. Of course, we may not be there to see you do it - especially if you've set yourself the goal of reaching the top of Ben Nevis!

And if you aren't up for a sponsored challenge then why not think smaller..... many of our supporters simply donate a sum to us instead of buying their friends Christmas cards. Perhaps you've saved up your pennies in a pot - well small change to you can mean big changes to our young carers.

Perhaps you are getting married or baptising your baby or simply celebrating a birthday - instead of accepting gifts from the guests you might consider inviting them to donate to us.

And it isn't all about funding us directly. It could be down to you whether we receive funding from your company. Many companies these days have trusts that will provide funding to charities - but only if the charities are introduced to the copany by an employee. So who do you work for? Do they give to charity? Can we give you some of our literature to pass on to them?

If you are still unsure how to help but wish to create channels through which funding can reach us then give us a call and have a chat with us on 01452 733060.

* BBC Radio Gloucestershire recently helped raise £1,000 through a collection at Gloucestershire Cathedral's annual carol concert.

David Haworth, Mont Blanc

  • David Haworth reached the top of Mont Blanc in September 07, raising £1,000 to enable young carers to take part in outdoor pursuits.

Stroud Rotary, Cheque presentation

  • Stroud Rotary Club donated £600 from the proceeds of their spectacular Ebley fireworks display. This will fund activities and a day trip for the Stroud Junior young carers group.
  • Cirencester Chiropractic Centre donated £250.00 instead of sending out christmas cards.
  • St Mary's Church, Cheltenham raised £347.87 from their Christmas Carol Concert.
