Corporate Support

Our name speaks for itself - Gloucestershire Young Carers.

Gloucestershire: There are, we believe, around 1500 young carers quietly bearing the role from day to day without question and without very much support. We currently reach around 400 but want to reach all of those young people - whether it is a 5 year old in Stroud providing emotional support to his mother or a 25 year old in Cheltenham who feels unable to work because she is putting her father's needs above her own.

Young: We invite young carers to join our groups from the age of 7 but we know that there are many children younger than that affected by the illness of a family member. We work to enable young carers to have the opportunities that most young people take for granted.

Carers: Our carers are often invisible, not counted in the statistics like their adult counterparts, not recognised by the usual agencies. They are a hidden workforce looking after mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers. They are taking on adult responsibilities way before they are adult and we want to give them just a little bit more of their childhood, a break from the responsibilities that they take on out of family love.

You can help us.

£50 will pay for a young carer to get a residential break for one night.

£200 will pay for transport to get a young carer in an isolated part of Gloucestershire to a support group.

£500 will pay for a day trip for 15 young carers.

£1,000 will provide a young carer with a support group for a year.

£6,000 will pay for a therapy-based Us Too group to be run.

Do Just one of the following:

  • Promote our cause to your staff
  • Encourage your staff to volunteer as drivers
  • Choose Gloucestershire Young Carers for your Payroll giving scheme
  • Organise a fundraising event
  • Offer us skills or 'in kind' donations to support the day to day running of our charity

Supporting a charity like ours has so many benefits:

  • It can add to your corporate social responsibility bank
  • It can increase staff morale
  • It can increase customer loyalty
  • It can provide a wide range of marketing and PR opportunities

We would like to discuss with you how we can plan and implement a campaign that will help us and help your company.

Please don't think about financial investment but long-term investment in the future of a young person.
